HÉCTOR ROSSO - Professional Credentials
Héctor is proud to be named Faculty Associate for Watson Caring Science Institute and coordinator for ‘WCSI Latin America’ to support Spanish / Latin American speaking health professionals who want to understand Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring.
Héctor deepened his studies in Caring Science through the WCSI Postdoctoral Program (2020). He is currently a Senior Scholar in Caring Science. He is also a certified Caritas Coach®, approved by AHNA (American Holistic Nurses Association).
Originally from Uruguay, Héctor has worked as a nurse for more than 27 years. More recently, he was Assistant Director of a large Psychiatric Hospital (CEREMOS – ASSE). This experience deepened his desire to develop well-being, care and attention of the nursing staff which formulated his research for his Double Masters thesis (2018).
Héctor was previously Professor and Director of the Department of Education and Community Health of the Faculty of Nursing and Health Technologies at the Catholic University of Uruguay, a prestigious academic institution with more than 10,000 graduates in the fields of Law, Engineering, Social, Business and Health Sciences.
Previously, Héctor worked for 24 years as a nurse in varying positions (Emergency, Intensive Care, Polyclinic Supervisor) for the only Public Pediatric Hospital in Uruguay. He then became Head of Nursing, where he also developed the Diabetes Education program for Pediatrics.
A strong supporter of education, Héctor has a double master’s degree in Strategic Management, specializing in health care organizations; and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management with a specialty in Management focusing on Health Organizations.
Héctor is currently pursuing his Doctorate (PhD) in Caring Science at FAU, (Florida Atlantic University - Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing) in Florida USA.
Héctor is also a Master Certified Reiki Practitioner, and Akashic Records Reader.
A profound family tragedy changed Hector’s life and led him to the path of Human Care. After meeting Dr. Watson and listening to her talk about her work, Héctor is now committed to the mission of sharing Watson’sCaring Science, for himself and others, providing support and advice particularly to Spanish-speaking nurses and from all over the world.
Contributing to Caritas, for himself, others and the planet.
