Caring Science acknowledges the interconnectedness of the universe and teaches nurses and other healthcare professionals to work in harmony with their patients and also their surroundings, assuming a unitary worldview instead of one of separation. It is believed that the care nurses provide extends far beyond the patient. The initial patient-nurse interaction influences those close to the patient, which in turn extends to the wider community, the world, the Earth and the universe.
